Common Entrance Test May 2017 for Admissions to UG Programmes

All admissions to the various UG and PG programmes of the IMU and its Affiliated Institutes for the Academic Year 2017-18 starting on Monday, 17th July 2017 will be through an all-India Online Common Entrance Tests (CETs) which will be conducted on Saturday, 27th May 2017 afternoon. Candidates will be required to clear this CET in order to be eligible for admissions to the respective Programmes.

[Please see Special Instructions for admissions to M.Sc (Commercial Shipping and Logistics) and BBA (Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce) programmes].

The following CETs will be held for respective Programmes:
a) 1 CET for UG Programmes [B.Tech (Marine Engineering), B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering), B.Sc (Nautical Science), B.Sc (Maritime Science), B.Sc (Ship Building and Repair) and Diploma Nautical Science].

b) 1 CET for Lateral Entry of DNS-passed students to 2nd Year of B.Sc (Nautical Science) Programme.

c) 1 CET for MBA (International Transportation and Logistics), MBA (Port and Shipping Management) programmes and for admissions to the 50% of seats for the non-seafarer candidates to M. Sc (Commercial Shipping and Logistics) programme.

d) 1 CET for M.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering), M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering) and M.Tech (Marine Technology and Management) programmes.

N.B – The results of the CETs are valid for that particular Academic session only.

Registration Procedure :
Registration Fee is Rs.1000 for General candidates and Rs.700 for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.

The registration process is divided into two parts
(i) Basic Registration – this is for generating the Application Number.
(ii) Detailed Registration – in this process further details have to be submitted and Application Fee is to be paid online
N.B. Basic Registration does not mean the candidate has successfully submitted the Application Form for the CET May 2017.

** Please note that fields marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory.

** After the ‘Basic Registration’ i.e. after the candidate clicks on ‘Submit’ button in the Basic Registration Page, system will generate and display the Application Number, which will also be communicated to the candidate by Email and SMS.

** For subsequent logins, use this system-generated Application Number as ‘Login ID’ and your Date of Birth as ‘Password’

** Under ‘Detailed Registration’, you will have to fill up additional details such as Address for Correspondence, Educational Details, Preferred Choice of Exam Cities, etc., followed by uploading of relevant scanned documents and payment of CET Registration Fees

** After successful online payment of Registration Fee, a Registration Slip will be generated. You are requested to take a print out of the same for your reference.

** Please note that the Service Charges / Payment Gateway Charges for making the Online Payment Transaction are to be borne by the candidate only.If the Class 12/UG Degree Exam results are awaited at the time of Online Registration, the candidate may choose the ‘Awaiting Results’ option.

Candidates shall upload the following documents at the time of Online Application Form:
a) Scanned copy of the passport size photograph.
b) Scanned copy of the signature of the candidate.
c) Scanned copy of 10th Standard Mark Sheet or equivalent in support of Date of Birth
d) Scanned copy of 12th Standard Mark Sheet (wherever applicable).
e) Scanned copy of UG Degree Certificate (wherever applicable).
f) Community Certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates

** Candidates need not submit any hard copy of the application to IMU.
