JRF/ Project Fellow Recruitment :

Applications are invited on plain paper for filling up temporary position of JRF/ Project Fellow (PA-II/ PA-III, Category I) and/or Research Associate (RA) on contract basis, as per the following details: Project Code No. DST- WTI

Title of the Project :
Development of an alternative methodology to existing industrial wastewater treatment practices using hydrodynamic cavitation for effective removal of COD and ammoniacal nitrogen with reduced cost.

Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications/experience(2)
(1) For JRF/PA (II/III), ME/ M. Tech (Chem. Engg.) with or without experience/ M. Sc. (Environ./BioTech.) with or without experience.
(2) For RA, Ph D in Eng./Sci./Tech., preferably in the area related to wastewater treatment/ separations Preference Candidates with computer knowledge and with experience/publications will be preferred.

Job requirement The project involves systematic studies on removal of pollutants/COD, ammoniacal nitrogen and/or color, initially using synthetic wastewaters and finally using real industrial wastewaters from various industries such as dyes/ textile/ fertilizer etc.

Studies will also be carried out to evaluate possibility of implementing cavitation technology alone or in combination with other processes such as biological treatment process, oxidation, adsorption, or coagulation.

After generating database on removal of individual pollutants, industrial trials are expected to assess efficacy of the developed methodology vis a vis established methods for possible commercialization of CSIR-NCL technology.

Consolidated fixed emoluments per month :
Rs. 25000/- + HRA for JRF/PF; & Rs. 40000/- + HRA for RA as per DST/CSIR guidelines
Age 30 Years for JRF; 28 Years for PA-II; 32 Yrs for PA-III
& 35 Years for RA

The engagement will be initially for a period of SIX months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the sponsored project/satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee.

The appointment will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of appointment is large, it will not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates.

Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the advertisement.

Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee to be called for interview would be notified on the divisional Notice Board on 23 February, 2017 OR the candidates may ascertain the information by contacting the following telephone No. 020- 2590 2620 after 2.30 pm. The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee should directly appear before the Selection Committee for an interview at CE&PD Division – CE Conference Room of the Laboratory on 27th February, 2017 at 2-30 p.m. No interview call letter will be issued separately.
