Walk-in Interview for Project/Contractual-based Temporary Positions of JRF/Project Fellow (1 No.), Programme Officer(1 No.), Field/Office Assistant (2 Nos.), JRF/JPF(2 Nos.), Field Assistant(2 Nos.), Project Assistant (2 Nos.), Junior Hindi Translater (1 No.) at HQs, GBPNIHESD, Kosi – Katarmal Almora

Applications are invited for the following purely project/contractual-based positions. The candidate with adequate qualification may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 17 April 2017 at 11:00 AM onward at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute.

Sl. No.-1: Mountain Division 5th Unit of GBPNIHESD
Position : Junior Research/Project Fellow (01 No.)
Emoluments : Rs. 25,000/- pm +HRA for NET JRF qualified candidate or Rs. 16,000/- pm +HRA for non NET
Age : 28 years
Essential Qualification : Ist Class Master Degree in Earth Science/Geography/RS & GIS or relevant subject/B. Tech. in relevant brand of Engineering
Desirable experience/ Duties :
** Experience of working with GIS environment
** Experience of field work in high altitude areas across Himalaya/glaciers in Uttarakhand or Arunachal Pradesh

Sl. No. -02: Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre on Himalayan Ecology of the Institute
Position : Programme Officer (01 No.)
Emoluments : 31,890/- fixed p.m.
Age : Maximum 45 Years
Eligibility : 1st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences along with good computer knowledge and 3 years experience
Desirable : Ph.D. or working for Ph.D. and Knowledge of document preparation

Sl. No. -03: National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS)
Title: “Rejuvenation of springs and spring-fed streams in Mid-Himalayan Basins using spring sanctuary concept”
Position : Field/Office Assistant (02 Nos.)
Emoluments : Rs.10,000/-per month + HRA @ 10%
Age : Maximum 45 Years
Qualification : Bachelor degree in Science/Arts with 3 years experience in data entry/field work Desirable Working experience in the Himalayan region.

Sl. No. -04: SAC Glacier III project
Title: “Integrated Studies of Himalayan Cryosphere in Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh”
Position : Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow (02 Nos.)
Emoluments : Rs. 16,000/- pm +HRA for NET JRF/GATE qualified or Rs. 12,000/- pm +HRA for others
Age : Maximum 28 Years
Essential Qualification : Ist Class Master Degree in Physics/Geology/Earth Science/Geography or relevant subject/B. Tech. in relevant brand of Engineering
Desirable experience/Duties :
** Experience of working with GPS/GIS environment
** Experience of field work in high altitude areas across Himalaya/glaciers in Uttarakhand or Arunachal Pradesh
Duration : Upto 2018-19

Position : Field Assistants (02 Nos.)
Emoluments : Rs. 10,000/- fixed pm
Age : Maximum 45 Years
Qualification : Graduate with 2 years field experience in Himalayan terrain
Desirable : Experience of working on high altitude areas/glaciers in Uttarakhand or Arunachal Pradesh
Duration : Upto 2018-19

Sl. No. -05: DST-NRDMS funded project
Title: “Nutritional status of Traditional foods of Uttarakhand utilized by Scheduled community”
Position : Project Assistant (02 Nos.)
Emoluments : Rs. 8000/- pm consolidated
Age : Maximum 28 Years
Essential Qualification :
M.Sc. in food nutrition/ food science and nutrition/ chemistry/ life science with minimum 55% percent marks
Desirable experience/Duties :
** Knowledge and understanding of biochemical tests of biological samples specially food ingredients
** Should have skills to communicate with the local people of target community, required for knowing their nutritional intake in form of food
Duration : For 1 year or up to completion of project
