Farm Assistant Apprentice Recruitment :

Applications are invited for the temporary recruitment of Farm Assistant Apprentice Trainees on contract basis.

Qualification : Diploma in Agricultural Science (DASc)

Terms and Conditions :
1. The recruitment will be on contract basis as apprentice trainee for a period of one year or till the appointment of a regular hand or the abolition of the post to which the candidate is posted, whichever is earlier.
2. The candidates will have no claim/preferential rights in the University other than to receive a consolidated pay of Rs.15000/- per month.
3. Age limit will be as per the existing Government Rules and age relaxation will be granted to eligible candidates.
4. Last date of receipt of application – 05.04.2017 and should be addressed to Associate Director, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Kumarakom-686563.
5. Selection will be based on the written test and interview on a further date.

About us :
The history of agricultural education in Kerala can be traced back to the year 1896 when a scheme was evolved in the erstwhile Travancore State to train a few young men in scientific agriculture at the Demonstration Farm, Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, presently, the Cropping Systems Research Centre under Kerala Agricultural University.

Agriculture was introduced as an optional subject in the middle school classes in the State in 1922 when an Agricultural Middle School was started at Aluva, Ernakulam District.

The popularity and usefulness of this school led to the starting of similar institutions at Kottarakkara and Konni in 1928 and 1931 respectively.
